Artist's Statement

This installation will be guiding the viewer through the cognitive process of creativity with both interactive and teaching components. Through this, I hope to tap into what is known as metacognition. Metacognition is a person's ability to assess their own cognitive processes, or in other words think about their thinking. The idea here is that through looking at creativity, particularly divergent/generative thinking, through a metacognitive lens will aid users in future creative prospects by explicitly teaching the underlying processes of creativity allowing them to more thoroughly self-assess their creative output.
