Diversity and Belonging Award
The Administrative Staff Council award for diversity and belonging was developed in 2022 to acknowledge and honor the work of any administrative staff member, office, or group who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing a positive culture of diversity, equity and belonging at BGSU.
The award consists of a cash award of $200 as well as recognition at the annual ASC reception. Recipients have the award recognition placed in their personnel file in Human Resources and a copy shared with their supervisor and area vice president.
Deadline for 2023-24 nominations is April 1, 2024.
Criteria and Eligibility
Any current full-time or part-time administrative staff member is eligible for the award. Office and group nominees must include at least one administrative staff member.
The nominee must have demonstrated one or more of the following criteria during the past year of service:
- Developed unique or creative ideas
- Supported diversity and belonging programming
- Demonstrated advocacy or allyship
- Served as a role model for our campus community
Nomination & Selection Procedures
Complete the official nomination form and include a narrative of not more than 500 words (one page single spaced or two pages double spaced), describing the nominee’s achievements and specific contributions. Be specific as to the contributions that make them deserve this award. Nominations are accepted from current BGSU students, faculty, classified, or administrative staff members.
Selection of the winner is determined by an Administrative Staff Council (ASC) committee on the basis of the information supplied by the Nominator, through this process. The winner is announced and all nominees are acknowledged and honored at the annual ASC reception.
