It's never easy to guide students through the college search process, but it's especially difficult this year, which is why we've enhanced our school counselor portal. Here you'll still find the handy tool to upload credentials for your students, but now you'll have details about the test waiver option, visit information and cost breakdown, among other features, at your fingertips. As always, please reach out to me, Adrea Spoon, Director of Admissions, or the BGSU Admissions Counselor assigned to your school/region if you have questions, but I hope you find this resource useful.
BGSU SCHOOL COUNSELOR VIRTUAL SERIES
It'll come as no surprise that our School Counselor Day is virtual this year. While we're disappointed we can't host you on campus, we hope you'll join us for our first-ever School Counselor Virtual Series.
We've developed a full schedule of virtual presentations and panels (and don't worry, they'll all be 30 minutes or less!)
Virtual events will be hosted throughout October & November.
Events will cover a variety of topics, including general BGSU updates, scholarships and financial aid, a virtual student panel and more.
Build your own schedule by choosing the dates and topics that work best for you.
The BGSU Office of Admissions accepts documents uploaded through the School Counselor Portal as official, even if they lack a signature or school seal, as only verified users have access to upload documents for their students. If uploading documents through the School Counselor Portal, please do not send duplicate copies via email, postal mail, Common Application, fax, etc.
Test Waiver Option
Due to the widespread hardship of COVID-19, Bowling Green State University is offering applicants the opportunity to have their applications reviewed without consideration of SAT or ACT scores. This is a one-year policy for students coming directly from high school or less than three years out of high school. While we still encourage the submitting of scores for a better picture of their academic profile, we understand that not all students will be able to take and/or submit a score because of hardship directly linked to the pandemic.
Students who utilize this test waiver option will be reviewed holistically, based on their GPA, strength of schedule, essay, recommendation(s), and any other supporting credentials. These students will also still be considered for the University Freshman Academic Scholarship and BG Success Scholarship for out-of-state students. However, the BGSU Honors College, some majors, and some scholarships still require the submission of test results for consideration. Please see our Test Waiver webpage for full details and answers to many questions you and your students may have.
School Counselor Portal & eNotifications
BGSU's School Counselor Portal allows verified school officials to upload official transcripts for applicants as well as a school profile. eNotifications send an email alerting you when a student from your school applies to BGSU. Both services are free to school officials and require the submission of separate registrations.

Students who do not submit a test score due to difficulties caused by COVID-19, will be considered for these scholarships based on their cumulative GPA. No separate scholarship application is necessary. View our Scholarship Calculator and Scholarships & Financial Aid pages for full details and additional scholarship opportunities.
BGSU accepts official high school electronic transcripts from the following sources:

Virtual Resources for Your Students
What does a "virtual" college search look like? We’re answering that question with your students in mind, knowing that even though things are different now, their college search still needs to move forward.
Please join us in encouraging your students to participate in our virtual events because now is the time to start gathering information, even if virtual events aren't their preferred way to approach the college search.
On this site, students will find a full offering of virtual experiences – check back often, as we’re adding new events and resources regularly. This is a great place for students to start!
We want to make sure students are getting all the information they need. The best way to do that is to attend our virtual information sessions. We’re dedicating time each day to connecting with students. This site offers a full calendar of offerings including admissions, scholarships, financial aid and academic presentations.
Students who are new to BGSU or just starting their college search should start with the Go BG! Admissions Information Session. This is the first step to learning more about BGSU.
Every student interested in BGSU has a team of representatives ready to help. Their Admissions Counselor is ready to provide you the information they need about applying, financial aid, housing and next steps. Looking for more information about a major or program? Students can connect with the representative from the majors they’re interested in – they’re part of the BGSU College Search Team, too, and are offering virtual one-on-one appointments, information sessions, tours and more.
In-person tours of residence halls will not be available for the foreseeable future in order to ensure the safety of our guests and BGSU community. Instead, we recommend students explore our residence halls using the 360 Residence Hall Tours.
We’re pleased to offer small and personalized in-person visits on our beautiful campus in Bowling Green, Ohio. These opportunities are extremely limited, and we ask that students reach out to their personal Admissions Counselor to start a conversation about a reservation
