December's "Imagining Palestine" Event a Success

Dr. Khani Begum and Shahin Hossein Speaking

On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, students in Dr. Khani Begum’s POPC/ENG 6800 course hosted Imagining Palestine, a free community-based learning event at the Wood County Public Library. The students in the course engaged the audience with various panels and displays of Palestinian popular culture, including an academic session, a food session, a presentation of street art, and a poetry reading. The event was well-attended, and it was a great way to connect the city of Bowling Green community with the campus community for an informative, important afternoon of thought and discussion.

The students involved with the event included: Emily Edwards, MJ Harris, Shahin Hossain, Lexi Issac, Ivan Johnson, Tristan Leighton, Olayinka Oladosu, Harry Olafsen, Michael Oshindoro, Olayombo Raji-Oyelade, and Alyssa Zuber. The pictures seen here were taken by Sara Mehler.
