Students in Dr. Cynthia Mahaffey's 1120 sections have recently donated 150 pounds of food to the Brown Bag Food Project of Wood County, bringing the total food donations made during the 2018-2019 academic year to 350 pounds. Students participate in the Brown Bag Food Project, which is run by Gwen Andrix and Amy Jo Holland and a group of volunteers, as part of an assignment sequence that focuses on food insecurity and homeless in the United States.

Students in the 1120 sections will also participate in Project Connect, a county-wide project for the underserved and homeless in Wood County, held in March.
