Permit Pricing and Sales Update

Resident Student permits are on sale now.  Permits may be purchased by logging into MyBGSU and clicking on Manage Parking Account. Resident Student permits are $135.00 for the 2024-2025 school year or $83.00 for a semester (processing fees not included). Permits may also be purchased in our office using credit card, check, or cash.  The annual permit is the best value and our recommendation for those students who will need to park on campus for the full year.  At $135.00 for the year, this amounts to $0.37 per day.

Commuter student permits will go on sale beginning August 5, 2024.  Permits may be purchased by logging into MyBGSU and clicking on Manage Parking Account. Commuter Student permits are $135.00 for the 2024-2025 school year or $83.00 for a semester (processing fees not included). Permits may also be purchased in our office using credit card, check, or cash.   The annual permit is the best value and our recommendation for commuter students who will need to park on campus for the full school year. At $135.00 for the year, this amounts to $0.55 per day if parking Monday through Friday.

Faculty/Staff annual permits for the 2023-2024 year will expire on August 23, 2024.  Faculty/Staff permits for the 2024-2025 school year will go on sale beginning August 5, 2024. Permits may be purchased by logging into MyBGSU and clicking on Manage Parking Account. Permits available for purchase will be shown in the account. Faculty/Staff permits are $145.00 for the 2024-2025 school year, $83.00 for a semester, or $130.00 for an academic permit (for those eligible). Faculty/Staff permits are paid via payroll deduction for those eligible.

BGSU Parking Services offers other options for parking if you prefer.  Hourly parking is available in Lot 6, 7, X, and 11 with payment able to be made conveniently via the Paybyphone mobile app (fees apply) or the kiosks located in those parking lots.  Rates are $1.00 per hour. The kiosks in those parking lots accept cash or credit cards.

Parking may also be paid for using the Paybyphone mobile app (fees apply) at a rate of $1.00 per hour in Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 18, 24, 32, 33, L, M, and N. Beginning August 2, 2024, full day parking may be purchased for only $5.00 per day in Lots 4, 5, 10, 18, 24, and L.

We also provide free parking in Lots 13 and 20.     

Parking Services does not require permits on University Holidays. Reserved, ADA, Fire lanes, loading docks, no parking areas, short term parking, and no overnight parking spaces/areas are enforced 365 days a year.  The following are University holidays for the 2024-2025 school year:

Labor Day – Monday, September 2, 2024

Veterans Day – Monday, November 11, 2024

Thanksgiving – Thursday and Friday, November 28 and 29, 2024

Christmas – Tuesday and Wednesday, December 24 and 25, 2024.

New Years Day – Wednesday January 1, 2025

Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Monday January 20, 2025

Memorial Day – Monday, May 26, 2025

Independence Day – Friday, July 4, 2025

Parking Lot Improvements and Changes

Each summer BGSU Parking Services dedicates time and money to routine maintenance and improvements of our parking lots.  Parking lots 21, G, Q, N, 1, M, 13, 20, 33, and K were sealed and striped as part of routine maintenance. This maintenance is part of our effort to maintain and enhance our parking lots.  

This summer parking Lot E was sealed and striped as part of routine maintenance. The striping included a new layout which provides for a safer and more efficient parking lot. We were also able to increase the number of parking spaces to provide more available parking for students and staff.

Parking Lot D will be switching to a pay to park location beginning August 1, 2024 and will be known as Lot 9 at that time.  This area will no longer be a Faculty/Staff permit required area. Payment will be required Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. This change was made in order to provide closer short term parking for students and visitors. Rates will be $0.25 per 15 minutes and $1.00 per hour.

Changes have been made to Parking Lots 32 and 33. These two parking lots at Kreischer will be switching to pay to park locations beginning August 1, 2024.  These two lots are located next to Kreischer and will offer close short term parking for students and visitors.  Payment via paybyphone will be required Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Rates will be $0.25 per 15 minutes and $1.00 per hour.

Pay to park using the paybyphone mobile app continues to be available in lots  4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 18, 24, L, N, M, and X in addition to lots 9, 32, and 33. Rates are $1.00 per hour in all parking lots.  Day rates of $5.00 per day will be available in parking lots 4, 5, 10, 18, 24, and L.

Beginning August 1, 2024, payment will be required in Lot 7 Monday through Saturday. No overnight parking will be allowed in Lot 7. Rates in Lot 7 are $0.25 per 15 minutes and $1.00 per hour.  Payment is available with cash or credit card via the pay kiosks as well as the paybyphone mobile app.
