Handshake

The Career Design Coaching team utilizes Handshake - a modern platform for connecting students and alumni with on-campus and off-campus employers. Handshake offers many great features including the ability to:

• Post your resume to connect with employers
• Apply for part-time and full-time positions
• Register your co-op 50 experience
• Sign-up to attend career-related events
• ... and more!

Students: To access Handshake, you must log into your MyBGSU account and click on the Handshake link listed within the Kuhlin Career Hub section.

Incoming Students: Handshake accounts are auto generated once a student has completed orientation, financial requirements and class registration and that timeline for each student can differ. For in-coming graduate students, the Handshake accounts are created approximately 2-3 weeks after classes have begun.

Please do not request/create a Handshake account, the request will be denied.  

Alumni: To access Handshake, you must have your personal email address on file with Registration and Records. Please complete the below form to indicate the personal address you would like to have on file and use for your Handshake login. You should allow 3-4 business days for processing. When your Handshake account is ready, you will receive an automatic link from Handshake.

NOTE: Positions posted in Handshake are posted on behalf of the external employer. Applying, interviewing, and accepting positions at external organizations is at your own discretion. External organizations are responsible for the compliance and validity of their positions and hiring practices. These positions are posted with the expectation that all University policies, along with all local, state and federal laws and regulations are followed. BGSU does not review for pre-approval prior to the position being posted on Handshake.
