The Media and Communication Student Association (MCSA) is an organization that is designed to benefit all students in the School of Media and Communication (SMC). This organization will help SMC students become more involved with on-campus and off-campus organizations. Professional development and social activities such as field trips will be organized to cultivate sense of belonging and fellowship among SMC students. Reasons for Choosing BGSU and the Major: BGSU has an incredible media program and there are so many ways to get involved. Before I even had my first day, I was getting emails about internships available for BGSU students (I even participated in one!). BGSU does an amazing job about getting students real world experience to prepare them for after college.

Reasons for Choosing BGSU and the Major: I chose BGSU for many reasons, but overall I wanted to take a hold of the incredible opportunities BG presented me with. Bowling Green offered many different academic programs, which appealed to me as I was researching degrees. I chose Communication because it was broad enough to encompass my desire to help people and continue writing in a career.

Reasons for Choosing BGSU and the Major: I chose Bowling Green because of how welcome I felt on my visit. It really feels like a home away from home for me. I chose Advertising after taking the intro class last spring. It was the first class that I was genuinely interested in and really enjoyed. I love that you are able to take a more business oriented route or a really creative route with this major.

Reasons for Choosing BGSU and the Major: Why NOT BGSU? BGSU is the college that makes you feel like you’re welcomed anywhere by anyone. Communications is a major that gets made fun of but a lot of people don’t realize how important communications is as it helps us get our message across and share ideas that can help better the community.

Reasons for Choosing BGSU and the Major: I chose BG because of the small town feel and welcoming environment. I am a transfer student from the University of North Florida, so coming to Bowling Green was a huge change for the better! I chose being a communication major due to its wide variety of potential career opportunities, but with my minor in advertising I would like to go into social media advertising!

Hobbies/Fun Fact: Love reading (crime/mystery books are my favorite), Love spending time with my friends and going on spontaneous trips, especially if it’s really random, like going to McDonald’s at 3am (because why not).

Reasons for Choosing BGSU and the Major: I originally chose BGSU for the business program(s), as I was interested in Marketing. I changed to advertising my sophomore year (2nd year), as that was what I was interested in within the marketing “umbrella”. I wanted to get a better understanding about consumer behavior (I know that is not all advertising is about, but it’s still something I am strongly interested in). BGSU was very welcoming and offered many programs that allowed me to get on the path I am now with my major and future career.
