Senior Adults Grants for Education
Bowling Green State University is committed to the idea of lifelong learning. NTMSS and the SAGE {Senior Adult Grants for Education} program opens the door to virtually unlimited learning opportunities for senior adults. If you want to enhance your skills, engage in serious intellectual inquiry or take courses for the sheer pleasure of learning, you can participate in SAGE.
SAGE participants are able to participate in BGSU credit courses on a space available basis with instructor permission. Participants are not awarded official grades or academic credit for courses.
To be eligible for the SAGE program, you must be 60 years of age or older and have lived in Ohio for the past 12 months. Participants in the SAGE program are able to participate in BGSU credit courses as space is available. No tuition or general fees are charged and the coursework is not posted to a transcript. Participants are responsible for the cost of any books, materials, or special fees tied to that course. Parking passes are available at a greatly reduced cost to SAGE participants.
To start the process, contact the NTMSS office at 419.372.8136 or visit us at 16 College Park Office Building. First time participants will need to provide us some basic information through an application/interest form.
The NTMSS office staff will direct you to selecting one or more courses of interest and determining if there is space available. The final step of the process is to secure instructor permission. This also allows you to introduce yourself to the instructor and negotiate your level of involvement and expectations. SAGE participants are normally not required to complete examinations or papers. Upon request, NTMSS will also facilitate the process for gaining University Library privileges.
For more information or questions concerning SAGE at BGSU please contact NTMSS.
