‘100 Years of Sport at BGSU’ on display Friday

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University’s School of Human Movement, Sport and Leisure Studies will host “100 Years of Sport at BGSU,” a special centennial celebration event, starting at 4 p.m. Friday (April 23).

A reception will be held from 4-5:45 p.m. in Anderson Arena. Students from sport management classes will present a historical perspective of men's and women's current and former athletic teams at BGSU. Mickey Cochrane, former lacrosse and soccer coach and current athletic archivist, will open the doors of the BGSU Athletics Archives during the reception.

Starting at 6 p.m. in 111 Olscamp Hall, seven former and current Falcon athletes, coaches and administrators will discuss their BGSU experiences. On hand will be Jim Lessig, former BGSU athletic director; Crystal Ellis, former basketball player; Tom Colaner, former football player and a member of the 1959 National Championship team; Denise Van De Walle, current women's volleyball coach; Sue Hager, former women's basketball coach; Mike Wilcox, former all-American lacrosse player, and Gary Haas Sr., former baseball player.
