    In 1994, Bowling Green State University’s Electric Vehicle Institute built an electric-powered race car. A prototype for zero-emission vehicles, the Electric Falcon won the Lightning Electric Car Championship, and served as a research platform for the development of motor, controller and drive train components for many University projects.

    Bowling Green State University and PNC Bank, N.A., will celebrate the opening of PNC’s new financial services center in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Sept. 22) with a ribbon-tying event. The opening of the services center is part of the university banking relationship between BGSU and PNC announced in July.

    From stage lights to sunlight, audiences at Bowling Green State University’s next Opera Theater production will see a double bill of Mozart and Handel. Mozart’s “The Impresario” and Handel’s “Acis and Galatea” will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.

    Eileen O’Neill is living proof that an internship can lead to your future career. While earning a master’s degree in popular culture at Bowling Green State University, O’Neill interned at Discovery Communications. Twenty years later she is the president and general manager of The Learning Channel (TLC), a division of Discovery. Under her direction, TLC has added a number of popular reality series including “Cake Boss” and “19 Kids and Counting.”

    The 15-day numbers are in and Bowling Green State University is celebrating its record-setting fall 2010 enrollment. All state colleges and universities are required to report enrollment data to the state of Ohio on the 15th day after the start of classes.

    Bowling Green State University’s Firelands campus reached a new milestone with a fall 2010 headcount enrollment exceeding 2,500 for the first time in the college’s 42 year history. All state colleges and universities are required to report enrollment data to the state of Ohio on the 15th day after the start of classes.
