Hand Raise Alert

Falcons know how to ask for help when needed! Navigate's Hand Raise Alert feature allows you to stay in charge of your BGSU experience. You can submit this alert at any time to indicate that you need help in one of the four areas.

After an alert is raised, you will receive an email letting you know which area you have been referred to. A representative from that area will contact you directly and get you connected with the resources you need. 

What types of Hand Raise Alerts can I submit?

I need help finding a club/organization/group/activity

This alert sends a referral to the Office of the Dean of Students. They can help recommend clubs, organizations and groups across campus. They can also help you find specific activities and events happening throughout the academic year. 

I need a tutor for a course

This alert sends a referral to the Learning Commons. The Learning Commons, located in the iconic Jerome Library helps students connect with tutors, study spaces and more. 

I have questions about dropping a class or changing a grade

Dropping a class or changing a grade can impact critical areas like financial aid, scholarship eligibility, credit completion toward graduation and GPA.

This alert sends a referral to your advisor.

I am considering withdrawing from the University

Withdrawing from BGSU is a big decision that should be discussed with a member of your Student Success Team. This alert sends a referral to your advisor. 

How to Submit a Hand Raise Alert

  1. Log into the Navigate Desktop or download the Navigate App.
  2. Next, select the "Help" icon or the + button in the top corner.
  3. Open the Hand Raise Alert dropdown menu. 
  4. Select the "Hand Raise" button.
  5. You will be directed to the Hand Raise Alert form. 
  6. Complete the form and select "Submit."

What happens after I submit an alert?

Once you submit a Hand Raise Alert, an email will be sent to you and the area in which you are being referred to. A member from that area will contact you directly and help to get you connected with the resources that you need.
