United Way and Northwest Ohio Community Shares

BGSU giving supports wide array of needs

The United Way and Northwest Ohio Community Shares (NOCS) campaign continues this month, and donations by faculty, staff, students and retirees continue to help raise the quality of life in the region.

A familiar charity, the Make A Wish Foundation, is under the NOCS umbrella, allowing children with serious illnesses to experience their dream. Recipients include 13-year-old Mauda-Kae of Bowling Green, who lives with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Later this year she will travel with her family to Florida to meet the dolphin star of the movie “Dolphin Tale.”

NOCS also supports such programs as ABLE, providing legal assistance to low-income people, Partners for Clear Streams and the Wood County Humane Society.

Visit the campaign website for more information and a list of participating organizations from both United Way and NOCS.
