  • Falcon Family of the Year Sep 15, 2014 7:00 AM At 23 years old, graduate student Antoinette Newsome is the youngest of 11 children. She comes from a very tight-knit family that has shown her strong support throughout her life, especially during her time at Bowling Green State University. That’s why the Newsome family was chosen as the 2014 Falcon Family of the Year. They were recognized at the Sept. 13 home football game, during Falcon Family Weekend.

  • Breaking away to serve Apr 21, 2014 12:00 AM “Our aim is to work side by side with our community partners, learn their story and take it on as our own,” said sophomore Jayna Clemens before leaving on an alternative spring break trip to Goshen, Ind., to promote affordable housing and community development. While the Goshen group donned hardhats and coveralls to renovate an old warehouse into a community art gallery, a second group of students was wading through green fields and forest floors in North Carolina fighting invasive plants. Together they contributed 1,304 hours of service.

  • $20 million gift to benefit BGSU men’s basketball and the Hancock County community Apr 14, 2014 7:30 AM The generosity of Findlay native William Frack continues to grow. The value of his gift to the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, benefiting the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball program and community needs in Hancock County, has nearly doubled to about $20 million since it was initially announced in 2011.

The enterprise will provide greater opportunities for students, along with helping fill the world’s growing need for trained pilots and other employees in the aviation industry.

  • BGSU Cheerleaders Win National Championship Jan 20, 2014 7:00 AM Bowling Green State University’s co-ed cheerleading squad clinched a national championship Saturday, Jan. 18, at the 2014 Universal Cheerleading Association College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship.
