Learn about developments in geography
Celebrate Geography Awareness Week 2014, Nov. 16-22, hosted by the geography department. Learn how new tools are changing the face of geography, with student presentations and guest speakers.
On Tuesday (Nov. 18), visit the Student Geographic Information System (GIS) Projects Poster Session from 3-5 p.m. in the third floor hallway of Hanna Hall.
On GIS Day, Nov. 19, two guest presentations will be held in 112 Business Administration Building:
BGSU alumnus Andrew Stauffer, product manager at Esri, will speak at 3 p.m. about “How Fortune 500 Companies are Thinking Spatially, Making Sense of Digital Exhaust, and Building Knowledge through Open Data.” Esri is an international supplier of GIS software, Web GIS and geodatabase management applications, headquartered in Redlands, Calif.
At 4 p.m., Ian Dunn, a software specialist with the city of Perrysburg, will present "Maps, Apps, and Databases, Oh, My! How the City of Perrysburg Uses GIS."
