In Brief: November 13

‘I’m Dreaming of a BROADWAY Christmas’ onstage at Caryl Crane Youth Theatre

Lanford Wilson’s ‘Book of Days’ takes the stage

Caryl Crane Youth Theatre at BGSU Firelands is kicking off this year’s holiday festivities with a one-of-a-kind song and dance showcase titled “I’m Dreaming of a BROADWAY Christmas.” There will be two performances, at 2 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23, in the McBride Auditorium in the North Building, One University Drive, in Huron.

The cabaret-style extravaganza showcases the best holiday music from Broadway and the silver screen, featuring 70 singers, dancers and musicians from 14 local school districts. Selections in “I’m Dreaming of a BROADWAY Christmas” range from well-known standards such as “White Christmas” (from the film by the same name) all the way up to Broadway’s newest smash musical, “Elf.” Co-directed by Artistic Director Brian Marshall and Teen Board President (and Perkins High School senior) Morgan Phares, the fun-for-the-whole-family event is rated G and recommended for ages 3 and up.

Tickets are $10 and are available online or by calling 419-626-1950. Learn more about Caryl Crane Youth Theatre.

“I’m Dreaming of a BROADWAY Christmas” is underwritten by Precision Body and Frame.
