Save Family Questionnaire in the NHIS
NCFMR Action Alert!
A proposal to redesign the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) includes elimination of the family questionnaire, which collects core demographic, social, and health information on all members in the household. If adopted, the NHIS would collect data only from the sampled adult and sampled child in the household. The loss of the family questionnaire would greatly limit the types of family and health-related research questions that could be examined with the NHIS.
We join the Minnesota Population Center (MPC) in urging you to take action.
See the MPC page for more details about the proposed changes to the NHIS and to access a sample letter to help you get started on sharing your concerns with NHIS before the March 15 deadline.
