Falcon Athletics and our more than 400 student-athletes represent the best of BGSU, both athletically and academically. As you’ve read in the previous article, our student-athletes continue to earn well-deserved recognition within the MAC and WCHA — as well as nationally — for their exceptional scholarship.
They also represent the very highest standards of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic competition across the 18 sports in which we compete. Our fall-sports Reese and Jacoby standings certainly bear out the strength of our teams as they compete for championships.
The Reese and Jacoby standings are an all-sports ranking of athletic departments within the Mid-American Conference. In each sport, teams receive a point total based on the final league standings (first place teams receive 13 points and last place teams receive 1 point). The women's all-sports standings are named after former MAC Commissioner Fred Jacoby and the men's all-sports standings are named after former MAC Commissioner David E. Reese.
