BGSU to hold summer commencement Aug. 21

Bowling Green State University will host an outdoor, in-person graduation ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, on the Bowen-Thompson Quadrangle.

Graduate candidates will have the opportunity to cross the commencement stage and receive their diploma. The ceremony will be moved inside to the Stroh Center if any inclement weather is forecast.

No guest tickets are required for the ceremony if the event is held outdoors and seating will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. If the ceremony is moved indoors, guest tickets will be required and distributed electronically. More information will be released after Aug. 18 if weather becomes an issue.

Free parking will be available throughout campus for guests and graduates. Please follow all traffic signage, as well as directions of the parking staff and police officers. Handicap parking will be available in parking lots A and G, a state-issued disability plate or plate card will be required. Golf carts will be available to transport those with accessibility needs and should only be utilized for those with mobility issues.

Candidates must arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. and should report to the grass area located east of the Administration Building and north of Founders Hall. Each candidate must go to the check-in tables to receive and fill out their announcer cards and then will be directed to their designated college area.
