Senior receives Phi Kappa Phi fellowship

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University senior Katherine J. Knierim of Mentor is among 60 students nationwide to receive a fellowship from the Phi Kappa Phi national scholastic honor society for the 2007-08 academic year.

Fellowship winners are selected on the basis of the applicant's academic performance, leadership and service on campus, potential, educational goals and references.

Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective scholastic honor society, with chapters on more than 300 college and university campuses in North America and the Philippines. Membership is by invitation to only the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors.

Knierim will graduate summa cum laude on Saturday (May 5) from BGSU with a bachelor of science degree. She has majored in geology, with a minor in environmental science.
