Shanti James is a clinical student who earned her B.S. in Psychobiology. She was drawn to the MAP Lab by her curiosity about the relationships between accessible physiological measurements and psychological states, especially stress and anxiety. Since joining the clinical track, she has also become interested in how mindfulness training and self-monitoring may affect these relationships. After earning her doctorate, she plans to work as a researcher and get involved in developing mental health related technologies. In her spare time, she likes to read voraciously, take long aimless walks, and visit her favorite contemporary art pieces at the TMA.
