FREE WELCOME PROGRAMS THAT CONNECT STUDENTS TO CAMPUS BEFORE THEIR FIRST DAY. Bowling Green State University offers a wide range of summer programs scheduled Prior to the start of Fall classes.  These programs help with the transition to college and support overall student success. Some programs are open to all first-year BGSU students living on campus or commuting while others are program-specific with certain requirements. The programs listed below may require early move-in if the student is living on campus. There is a limited number of spaces available so we encourage you to learn about each and apply soon!


Falcon Quest

Aug. 16-22 | EARLY MOVE-IN REQUIRED

Students looking to make a difference in their residence halls through leadership and active engagement will develop important skills and relationships that will help them make the most of their residential experience at BGSU. Participants will learn about opportunities for residential involvement and gain skills related to working with diverse teams, community building, and values-based leadership. Students must be registered full time for Fall 2024 and be an incoming first-year student with a 2024-25 Housing Contract.

Generation Falcon

Aug. 14-18 | EARLY MOVE-IN REQUIRED

As a first-generation student and family, you may find yourself in need of additional support. If this sounds like you, The Office of Residence Life encurages your to register for this five-day program completely focused on first-generation families and designed to make the transition into University life as smooth as possible. When you participate in this program, you will identify campus support resources, learn communication and collaboration skills, identify personal skills and more! Students must be registered full time for Fall 2024.

* There are no fees as long as the student participates. If a student signs up and does not cancel with enough time for the program to fill the vacant spot, does not show up to participate or does not complete the entire program, a fee may be assessed to the student.
