Kei Nomaguchi received her PhD in sociology from the University of Maryland in 2003. Prior to coming to BGSU in 2009, she was on the faculty of Northern Illinois University. Dr. Nomaguchi has research interests in the areas of parenting, work and family, parent-child relationships, family and health. She has published extensively on parental well-being, including changes in adult well-being during the transition to parenthood, work-family conflict and its consequences on the well-being of parents, and parenting stress. Most of Nomaguchi’s research concerns disparities in parental and child well-being based on social statuses such as gender, socioeconomic status, race/ethnicity, and family structure as well as variations across life stages. She has been publishing her work in Journal of Marriage and Family, Journal of Family Issues, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, and other sociology journals.
