Research Interests:

Our research vision is to create photo-responsive materials. Our research is inspired by the interactions of metals in natural systems. We are interested in understanding the fundamental photochemistry of materials with metal-coordination interactions as well as creating new photoactive materials where the photochemistry is used to control material properties like stiffness and adhesion, as well as release of drug molecules. We use coordination complexes, biopolymers, and nanoparticles to design these responsive materials.
