Laura worked for many years in radio broadcasting, production and communication management before starting her graduate program. She also served as Assistant Basic Course Director and a collegiate level Forensics & Debate coach. Investigating social networking sites as a potential site of agency and influence, Laura’s research interests lie in the power dynamics of consumer agency, the commodification of resistance, mediated activism, and identity formation within online subgroups. Other topics of interest include gender, popular music, and organizational marketing strategies.
