The state-of-the-art Kuhlin Center on campus houses BGSU’s School of Media and Communication. Each year high school students are welcome to visit and tour the building while learning about the programs and majors offered.

The tour starts on the fourth floor with an introduction from BGSU’s Kelly Taylor, a lecturer in the journalism and public relations program as well as chair of the Student Media Advisory Board. Taylor discusses the programs and organizations within the department and offers insightful advice to potential incoming students. Visitors also have the opportunity to talk about their interests and ask questions. Often, current students will participate during the tour to help answer questions, allowing the visitors to gain a student perspective about the programs and the campus.

After the welcome, the tour group moves from the fourth floor to the first floor viewing and learning about each room in the building. This tour, for prospective students who have an interest in media or communication, is filled with conversations, real perspectives and explanations of the hands-on learning that takes place in the building. The important takeaway that high school students see when touring is how the state-of-the-art studios and classrooms, give BGSU students professional experiences that prepare them for the media and communication industry.brunning 3 p1

When the tour is completed visitors can stay after to talk with and ask questions of Taylor and the current students. This tour truly allows visitors to see what the Kuhlin Center has to offer future media and communication students.
