STC History

BGSU STC Chapter

Established in 1982, the BGSU student chapter of the Scientific and Technical Communication Program was formed. Since this time, the chapter has been active in promoting STC events, encouraging students to join STC and contributing to the Society and the profession.

The BGSU chapter of STC has membership that consists of faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students as well as other professionals in Northwest Ohio. As an STC BGSU member, individuals will receive Technical Communication, the Society's professional journal, Intercom, the Society's magazine and Horizons, the BGSU chapter newsletter. Members also can attend STC's Annual Technical Communication Conference and regional conferences at a reduced rate. Members are also encouraged to participate in professional development programs, seminars, and workshops. Members are able to use the STC referral service to obtain employment opportunities and members are also eligible to apply for scholarships and memberships in STC's honorary society, Sigma Tau Chi.
