Aqueous and Terrestrial Geochemistry Laboratory

Research in my laboratory (1) investigates how tile drainage dissolved organic matter (DOM) transforms as it passes through wetland soils under different hydraulic conditions, (2) aims to determine the mass fraction of nutrients incorporated into adsorbed versus co-precipitated secondary species including Mn-oxides, organo-metal colloids, short range order Fe-oxides, long range order Fe-oxides, and residual materials in wetland soils, (3) examines nutrient loss in artificially drained systems under conventional fertilizer versus manure application practices, and (4) studies hydraulic conditions of artificially drained systems under conventional till and non-till practices and correlates water and nutrient fluxes with these tilling management practices.
