World Languages and Cultures
Part-time Teaching Positions

Details: World Languages and Cultures at Bowling Green State University seeks applicants for possible part-time teaching positions in introductory language courses for the Academic Year 2025-26

Qualifications: M.A. or higher degree in Chinese, Classical Civilization, French, German, ancient Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Latin American Culture Studies, Russian, Spanish, or related field. Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level in any of the above languages or related field is preferred, as is teaching online courses at the collegiate level.

Department of Mathematics and Statistics
Part-time Instructors (Adjuncts)

Details: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Bowling Green State University seeks applicants for one or more part-time teaching assignments of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in mathematics and statistics for Academic Year 2025-2026.

Successful applicants may teach quantitative reasoning, college algebra, precalculus, calculus, math education, introductory and/or foundational statistics, statistics, a first course of probability, and/or other courses depending on the applicant’s qualifications. Starting date is August 2025 or January 2026.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a master’s or doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or in a closely related field. Evidence of successful teaching in mathematics and statistics courses at the collegiate level is preferred, as is experience teaching in an Emporium format.

School of Media & Communication

Adjunct Part-time Teaching Positions (Undergraduate), Academic Year 2025-2026

Details: The School of Media and Communication (http://www.bgsu.edu/smc) seeks strong applicants for part-time, adjunct teaching assignments at the undergraduate level in the areas of communication, media production and studies, journalism, public relations, advertising, and social media. Undergraduate courses could include strategic communication, interpersonal communication, organizational communication, leadership, conflict and communication, introductory journalism, broadcast journalism, new media and journalism, sports reporting, public relations, social media, video and audio production or script writing. SMC courses could be online or face-to-face.

Starting dates are either August 11, 2025 or January 12, 2026.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a master’s degree in journalism, public relations, communication or media-related fields or a bachelor’s degree with five or more years of more professional experience in those areas. Professional experience is required to teach journalism and public relations courses.

Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level is preferred.

Successful applicants will teach undergraduate courses in Sociology, which includes Principles of Sociology and special topics or upper-division classes as needed, such as Introductory Sociological Theory, Alcohol, Drugs, and Society, Deviance, Family, and Criminology.

Qualifications: MA in Sociology or related field is required; PhD strongly preferred.

Department of Political Science

Part-Time Instructors (Adjuncts)

Details: The Department of Political Science at Bowling Green State University seeks applications for possible part-time adjunct teaching positions for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration (FIAD) program (bgsu.edu/fiad). The Fire Administration program is an online degree completion program. Online classes are held on a 15-week semester schedule fall and spring. Classes are held on an accelerated flexible schedule in the summer. Successful applicants will teach one or more of the following online courses: Fire & Emergency Services Administration, Principles of Emergency Management, Analytical Approaches for Fire & Emergency Services, Applications of Fire Research, Political & Legal Foundations for Fire Protection, Psychology of Disaster, Advanced Fire & Emergency Services Administration (Capstone). Successful applicants may also teach courses in public administration such as Introduction to Public Administration, Public Administration Leadership and Ethics, or Administrative Law.

Qualifications: A master’s degree is required; PhD is preferred. Online teaching experience is preferred. Practical management experience in a field related to the fire service, emergency management, or related field is preferred.

Part-time Instructors (Adjuncts)

Details: The Department of Computer Science at Bowling Green State University seeks applicants for one or more part-time, adjunct teaching positions. The position carries a 3-, 6-, or 9-hour load (1,2 or 3 courses, in the classroom or online). Salary varies with teaching load. Adjunct faculty typically teach freshman courses; specific course assignment will depend on the instructor’s credentials. Starting dates are either August 2025 or January 2026.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field. Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level is preferred.
