As I've worked in past Leadership and Management roles, I have been able to create and articulate a shared strategic vision, while leading my teams through empowerment and individual development. I bring that same empowerment for learning to my role as instructor at BGSU.
My operational scope of prior management experience includes: Direct responsibility for $25 million market, $100K field expense budgets, $1 million in salaries for 20+ direct reports, as well as marketing, forecasting, analysis, multi-project management, strategical and tatical planned objectives, and human resources including hiring/firing and performance appraisals. As a corporate trainer for my employees and 6000 independent contractors in a two state area I was responsible for all aspects of company offered training sessions including: Design, operations, implementation, facilitation and presentation. Some of my accomplishments include: Leadership Award - Avon North; Record breaking achievement in Harvest Division for sales, orders, staff and additions for year 2001; #1 in Sales Performance versus Plan - Avon North; Circle of Excellence - Avon North; Avon North District Sales Manager Seminar; Customer Search - West Champion; Customer Development Award - Avon North; Top Achiever Award - Avon Products, Inc.; Avon President's Recognition Program - Recruiting Excellence.
I accepted the additional duty of re-districting manager for over six months, while the fortune 500 company was downsizing. I Was responsible for all operational aspects of re-districting such as: Mapping, communication, reapportioning of geographical areas, training on new responsibilities for managers, forecasting and analysis.
I've continued ongoing tax preparation for individuals and small businesses as I prepare to sit for the CPA exam including: Accounting, record keeping and payroll for clients, and consulting clients on potential tax consequences of business and personal decisions. As a loan officer, I initiated, designed, facilitated and presented community education events across Northwest Ohio to help senior citizens make informed decisions concerning financial products available to them that would improve their financial worth.
I attended BGSU to complete my MBA with Accounting Specialization and as a graduate teaching assistant was nominated for the 2009 Graduate Teaching Assistant Award. After completing my MBA I worked at BGSU, Owens Community College and Herzing University as an adjunct professor of business courses. I employ a teaching technique utilizing the Wall Street Journal as an additional class textbook in many of my courses in an effort to acclimate students to current events in business. My hope is to make students aware of how business decisions effect everyone and impress on them the need to keep up to date using the "textbook of business".
