The Hatch 2022

E-Week

The Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership hosted the 10th annual E-Week April 18 - 22 2022

10 Years of Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship Week (E-Week) at BGSU is the most significant annual event for the Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business. Each April, the college hosts entrepreneurial leaders from around the world to share their experience and expertise through presentations and other events including The Hatch, the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Hall of Fame and the Sebo Series in Entrepreneurship. Several E-Week events are open to the general public.

E-Week is also a time to showcase the accomplishments of students, recognize alumni and have some fun. Each year, the programming is developed around a central theme, and the theme for 2022 was Turning Lemons into Lemonade, inspired by the book "Plato's Lemonade Stand: Stirring Change into Something Great" by the Sebo Series in Entrepreneurship keynote speaker, Tom Morris.

The events in 2022 marked the 10th annual E-Week, and as we Hatched deals, honored new Hall of Fame inductees and learned how successful entrepreneurs have turned Lemons into Lemonade, we also celebrated the last decade by reflecting on all that we have accomplished.

A Message from Paul J. HookerPaul J. Hooker

It's hard to believe E-Week 2022 is already over! It was a week full of entrepreneurial spirit, and I hope event attendees walked away feeling just as inspired as I am about turning lemons into lemonade.

A special thanks to all the presenters who joined us for E-Week. The stories and presentations you gave have made such an impact and we're grateful for your time.

Congratulations are in order for new Hall of Fame inductees Julie Brandle, Bruce Fisher, Mike Hart and Eric Nowlin. I also want to congratulate all the Hatchlings for their efforts. Deal or no deal, I am so proud of all you accomplished and wish you a future full of success. And of course, we so appreciate the work of the Hatch mentors who prepped the Hatchings over their ten-week journey, and the alumni investors who provided funding for the Hatchlings to continue to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Without all of you, none of this would have been possible.

As we learned this year, finding opportunity amidst adversity (turning lemons into lemonade) isn't always easy, but with some perseverance and a fresh perspective you may just find a way to succeed. And when you do, I promise that is the sweetest tasting lemonade.

Until next time. Go Falcon entrepreneurs!
