Position Title

Instructor of Business Math & Statistics, Applied Statistics and Operations Research, College of Business

Full-time in nontenure track: renewable

Primary Responsibilities

-       Teach four three-credit hour courses per semester (or equivalent) primarily at undergraduate level, along with graduate level courses when needed.

-       Quantitative course development and modification.

-       Professional development to maintain skills as well as University/professional service.

-       Consulting in the Center for Business Analytics.

Minimum Qualifications

-       Masters degree in statistics, operations research, management science or related fields, earned as of the start date of the contract.

-       Candidate should have 1-2 years of professional experience in business.

Preferred Qualifications (optional)

-       Show evidence of teaching effectiveness.

The Department of Applied Statistics and Operations Research offers a specialization in Business Analytics and Intelligence and a minor in Applied Statistics for undergraduates.  At the graduate level, the Department offers an M.S. in Applied Statistics jointly with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The Department also participates and offers courses in the professional M.S. in Analytics program. Bowling Green State University, Department of Marketing, is seeking applicants for a one year non-renewable, non-tenure track Instructor position to begin Fall 2017.  Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels.  Candidates are required to have a master’s degree in business, communication, or related field.  Teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level in overview of business administration, applied business experiences, and business communications courses, with possible additional courses in marketing.  Instructor should expect to participate in recruiting efforts such as university preview days, university Presidents’ Day, etc.  Candidates should have at least 2 years recent business experience and some experience in applying design thinking principles and active learning pedagogy.
