2023 Basic Introduction to Grants Workshop
The Division of Research is pleased to announce the 2023 Basic Introduction to Grants Workshop as part of our Building Strengths program. The intent of this workshop is to provide a basic understanding of the grant writing process to faculty members who have an interest in applying for an external grant but have had no experience doing so. Up to 12 applicants having a strong record of scholarship and commitment to research will be seleted to participate in the workshop.

Faculty Research Incentive
Nearly $60,000 in professional development funds were provided to a group of Bargaining Unit Faculty Members (BUFMs) who were the Principal Investigators (PIs) of grant-funded research and creative activities during fiscal year 2021. In accordance with Article 23, Section 8.3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, a percentage of the Facilities and Administrative costs generated by an external grant is returned to its BUFM PI in the form of professional development funds. Over 70 BUFMs received such funds from the vice president for Research and Economic Engagement this year.

Faculty Payroll Bonuses - April 2022
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement's grant incentive program, eleven faculty members will receive payroll bonuses totaling approximately $10,000 in April 2022 at the closure of their externally funded grant projects. For the details of this incentive program, please see Article 23, Sections 8.1 and 8.2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
