Teaching & Learning Certificate Program
The BGSU Teaching & Learning Certificate Program, administered by the Center for Faculty Excellence, is intended to assist instructors in planning a systemized path to professional development. Open to all BGSU faculty/instructors, graduate students, administrative and classified staff. The program provides opportunities to interact with colleagues across campus and to explore current, innovative, and effective teaching strategies that support student success.
The Active Learning Certificate Program
The Active Learning Certificate Program addresses the professional development needs of instructors and the pedagogical advancements associated with active learning. The goal of the program is for participants to develop knowledge of active learning principles and evidence-based techniques to be applied to their own teaching for the purpose of developing inclusive, engaging learning experiences that support student success. The approximate time commitment for completing all three program modules is four hours. The program has 20 available spots and registration is first-come-first-serve.
eCampus Instructor Training Program
The eCampus Teacher Training and Resource Guide is an asynchronous Canvas Course created by the Center for Faculty Excellence and eCampus to help instructors enhance their course design and delivery in accelerated online courses. Faculty, teaching instructors, and teaching assistants may chose to progress through this Canvas course shell as an asynchronous course or attend the accompanying synchronous workshop, eCampus-Teaching Online.
Safe Zone Training Certificate Program
The Safe Zone workshop promotes awareness of LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer +) people. The workshop provides education concerning LGBTQ+ issues and seeks to improve the environment for LGBTQ+ people. This workshop helps to build a support network of allies for the BGSU LGBTQ+ community.
