BGSU’s data reveals a near tripling of voter participation from 2014 to 2018, going from 11.9 percent to 35 percent, a 23.1 percentage point change.

  • BGSU men’s rugby club team wins 39th consecutive MAC title Nov 11, 2019 10:22 AM BGSU defeated the Broncos 23-20 on Nov. 10 at Brimelow Fields in Fairfield, Ohio, to keep its streak of MAC titles alive at 39 in a row. The Falcons needed a last-second penalty kick by freshman Ryan Niemiller to advance to the national playoffs Nov. 23-24 in Greenville, North Carolina.

  • BGSU Women’s Soccer wins second straight MAC championship Nov 10, 2019 5:35 PM The Bowling Green State University women’s soccer team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row after defeating Eastern Michigan in penalty kicks 3-1 on Nov. 10 at Cochrane Stadium. The Falcons (15-5-2) defeated Buffalo 2-1 in a MAC Tournament semifinal.

  • BGSU students attend UN Food and Agriculture Organization Conference Nov 8, 2019 2:30 PM More than 30 students from Bowling Green State University attended the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Conference in Cleveland on Nov. 4, hosted by the Codex Committee on Food Hygiene (CCFH). Students were able to talk and interact with representatives and delegates from 56 nations.

Randy Gardner ’81, ’87, Sheryl Maxfield ’81 and Laurie Stevenson ’88 were nominated as cabinet directors on Jan. 10 in Columbus.

  • BGSU alumnus named best Ohio TV reporter by Associated Press BGSU alumnus Duane Pohlman was recently named best Ohio TV reporter by the Associated Press. He is an investigative reporter for WKRC-TV, Channel 12, in Cincinnati, where he has worked since September 2016. Prior to landing his current position at WKRC, Pohlman worked at several television stations across the country.
