  • Philharmonia, Men’s Chorus to perform at Ohio music educators’ conference Jan 28, 2019 8:28 AM BGSU’s College of Musical Arts will have a large presence at the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference in Cleveland. The Men’s Chorus and the BG Philharmonia will perform, a prestigious honor for both groups and an excellent opportunity for BGSU alumni to support and celebrate the CMA.

  • Guest artist Marina Lomazov highlights David D. Dubois Piano Competition Jan 25, 2019 3:41 PM Internationally known pianist Marina Lomazov is this year’s guest artist for the eighth annual David D. Dubois Piano Competition. She will give a public recital on Feb. 2. Hosted by the College of Musical Arts, this year’s event features 23 accomplished high school pianists competing for prizes.

That’s the message alumnus David Hainline spreads to students in a new entrepreneurship class at BGSU. Hainline graduated in 1983 as a Radio, Television, and Film major, now known as media production and studies.

  • Grab and Go, Falcon Care nurture student success Jan 23, 2019 12:00 AM Students facing food insecurity can receive help from the Office of the Dean of Students. Danielle Haynes, coordinator of student case management, has created Grab and Go bags, supplying three days’ worth of food to qualifying students. Dining Services also offers free meal swipes donated through the Falcon Cares program.

  • ‘Finian’s Rainbow’ brings enchantment to Caryl Crane Youth Theatre stage Jan 23, 2019 12:00 AM Caryl Crane Youth Theatre presents one of Broadway’s classic and most original musicals, “Finian’s Rainbow,” Jan. 31 through Feb. 3. The performance won “Best in Music” at the recent Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta.

  • BGSU cheerleading squads fare well at nationals Jan 22, 2019 4:18 PM The Bowling Green State University cheerleaders competed January 18-20 in the UCA and UDA Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. BGSU’s small coed team finished in first place in the University World Cup Championship.

  • BGSU online criminal justice master's program one of the best in nation Jan 16, 2019 2:04 PM Bowling Green State University’s online criminal justice master's program is ranked 14th in the country in the 2019 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings, which were released January 15. BGSU offers an eCampus option for students that features eight-week courses year-round with six different start dates.

  • Army Reservist earns bachelor’s degree at BGSU while deployed in Syria Jan 14, 2019 1:19 PM Thurman Dieter has been in the Army Reserve for the past six years. He didn’t get a chance to walk across the Stroh Center stage in December to receive his diploma with his Bowling Green State University classmates. Instead, he watched his graduation ceremony on the web from a tent while deployed in Syria.

Montgomery Distinguished Service Award. A full-time BGSU faculty member for 20 years, she has served as chair of the Student Media Advisory Committee for the last five years.

Ciesla comes to BGSU from Northern Illinois University, where he was associate dean for research and resources in the College of Health and Human Sciences.
