HR accepting applications for BG Leadership Academy

The Office of Human Resources is accepting applications for the BG Leadership Academy through Nov. 22.

The BG Leadership Academy provides an exceptional professional development opportunity for faculty and staff while improving leadership skills and intellectual competencies, as well as promoting and encouraging effective relationships, partnerships and collaboration across the Bowling Green State University community.

Integration of the Leadership Academy as part of the University’s culture of professional development sends a message to all stakeholders of the University's commitment to personal, professional and organizational success. Additionally, it maximizes the institution’s human resources by providing BGSU’s faculty and staff with the opportunity to recommend strategic organizational alignments, thus enhancing leadership, intellectual competence, collaboration, partnerships and effective relationships within and across faculty and staff. Ultimately, the output of work by Leadership Academy participants will contribute to the University’s strategic unified plan for moving the University forward.

With the overall vision and strategic plan of the University serving as the foundation for the Leadership Academy, faculty and staff participants will work and learn together to build our institutional leadership capacity for today and for the future. The integrated five-month program offers a systematic approach for faculty and staff to learn leadership theories and, through small group collaboration, provide an institutional response to the initiatives outlined in the BGSU strategic plan, culminating in a measurable outcome.

BGSU employees — administrative, classified or faculty members — who have been employed with the University for at least two full years at the time of application are welcome to apply to the BGLA. Employees must have supervisor approval. If selected into the program, participation and attendance is crucial to employee success; the seven sessions are full-day commitments.
