Room Change Request - After Move-in

The Office of Student Housing will do our best to accommodate your room change request but we cannot guarantee it will be processed. If your room change request is not approved, you will be able to submit up to two more room change requests before March 30.
Step 1
You should reach out to your RA, Graduate Hall Director or Hall Director to see if they can help resolve what is prompting you to request a move. Moving in the middle of the semester can be stressful and sometimes a seemingly unmanageable situation can be handled easily with a little help.
Step 2
If the situation cannot be resolved, a student (not a parent or guardian) can make a request to change rooms.
Once you navigate to the Room Change Request page in your Housing Portal you will need to select your current booking, then you will be taken to the Available Rooms List. The rooms list contains all residence halls with available spaces and will be updated once daily, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays that fall on weekdays.
Our office recommends that before you submit a room change from one building to another that you review the Housing Rates for that hall. Once you move to your new hall your housing bill will reflect that hall’s rate, which might be higher.
Please Note
After you review the Available Rooms List, you will need to note the residence hall and specific room you are requesting to move to before you continue the request from.
Step 3
Once you submit your request it will be sent to our Housing team and be added to our request list. Room change requests are first-come-first-serve. We will work our way down the list in the order that we receive them. If we are able to approve your request you will receive an email from the Office of Student Housing with the instructions you will need to follow to check out of your current room and check into your new room.
Weekend Move Requests
If you would like to move over a weekend, requests must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on the Thursday before your move. This will allow the residence hall the time to process your room change in time for your move.
