Service learning

We can help you incorporate service learning into your curriculum – everything from designing an experience to implementation and assessment.

Service learning is a class-based, credit-bearing educational experience that integrates:

  • Academic material
  • Community-based engagement and/or service activities
  • Critical reflection

This partnership between BGSU and the community benefits our students and also helps advance public good.

Resources for teaching online service learning classes

The library guide on community-based learning can be useful for faculty who teach online service-learning courses. It features virtual volunteer opportunities and online teaching resources.
