Current Student Scholarships
Each year beginning October 1, current students can complete the General Scholarship Application to apply for new and additional scholarship opportunities. We encourage all BGSU students to seek out scholarships to help cover the cost of college.
Finding the General Scholarship Application
To access this comprehensive, University-wide General Scholarship Application, students must follow the steps below:
- Login to your MyBGSU
- Click on the “Scholarship Opportunities” tile
- Complete the general and college specific applications.
- Once the general and conditional (if required) scholarship applications are completed, you can also review the Recommended Opportunities tab for scholarships that require additional information.
A new scholarship application must be submitted each academic year beginning October 1 for the next school year.
No application is needed to renew your BGSU University Freshman Academic Scholarship or BG Success Scholarship. Your eligibility for the next academic year will be reviewed at the end of each spring semester. In general, you must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and have completed 30 credit hours at the end of your first year, 60 credit hours at the end of your second year, and 90 credit hours at the end of your third year, to receive your scholarship for the next academic year. Please refer to the terms and conditions that were provided to you when you were awarded the scholarship for specific renewal information.
In your scholarship search, we encourage all students to leave no stone unturned. You may also find opportunities through the following:
- Non-profit organizations
- Local businesses
- Faith groups
- Student and parent employers
- Your own high school
