The MA program with the Strategic Communication specialization comprises 30 credit hours, which can be earned by taking three required courses (MC 6001; MC 6301; MC 6401), four specialization courses (MC 6550; MC 6551; MC 6552; MC 6553), and two elective courses (one MC course; one BGSU graduate course), as well as completing comprehensive final exam.

Submit Your Graduate College Application Online

- Current resume listing both educational and professional experiences
- Personal statement (1-2 pages) evaluating your preparation for graduate study and elaborating how this degree will help you accomplish your educational and career objectives
- Three letters of reference sent directly from the recommenders
- Once we receive the online application and all other materials we will contact applicants for an interview, either in person or via technology.
Note: All graduate level programs use the same Graduate College Application. A $45 nonrefundable application fee is assessed for domestic applications. The international application fee is $75.
Submit Official Transcripts and Standardized Test Scores
TRANSCRIPTS: As part of the online application process you will upload scanned copies of transcripts from all institutions attended. Upon admission, final official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be submitted to the Graduate College.

TEST SCORES: GRE test scores (within last 5 years) are to be submitted as part of the online application process. Applicants planning to take the GRE should plan ahead accordingly. Visit https://www.ets.org/gre for more information about test centers, test dates, and test availability. Applicants with 3 or more years of relevant professional work experience may be eligible for exemption from the GRE requirement.
Non-native speakers of English must have a minimum 80 TOEFL IBT, 53 PTEA, or 7.0 IELTS score.
