Interactive Professional Development Workshops
The Division of Research offers workshops that support our new process for submitting proposals. All BGSU faculty are welcome to attend. No advanced registration is required. If you have any questions please contact us at ResearchDevelopment@bgsu.edu
*To join our the workshops’ Zoom meeting room, BGSU colleagues will need to be signed into Zoom.
- Option 1: Log into Zoom and then click our workshops’ Zoom link.
- To do this, colleagues can use BGSU’s single-sign on (SSO) link to log into Zoom and then click our workshops’ Zoom link.
- Option 2: Click our workshop’s Zoom link and then log into Zoom.
- If a person (who is not logged into Zoom) clicks on our workshop’s link, they will be prompted with a button labeled “Sign in to join this meeting.”
- Users should click the button labeled “Sign in to join this meeting.” This will take them to a login space.
- Next, users should click the SSO (single-sign on) option and enter “bgsu-edu” in the box that appears. Once they’ve done this, they’ll be prompted to enter their BGSU single sign-in (SSO) credentials (i.e., their BGSU email username and password).
On-Demand Professional Development
Online tools allow for professional development flexibility. Note: You must be logged into your MyBGSU portal to access some materials.
- GrantForward Tutorial: search engine to identify funding sources
- SciENcv Tutorial:SciENcv supports NSF and NIH BioSketches and Current & Pending Support document generation to reduce administrative burden. PIs can input information once and then generate agency-specific documents.
- Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).: provides self-paced online courses for research, ethics and compliance training.
Research Development Certificate
The Division of Research recognizes BGSU faculty for their participation in our research development workshops and commitment to making an impact with their work. Attending our workshops provides individuals with opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills in key areas like finding funding, developing a research agenda, drafting budgets, and submitting proposals.
To earn a Research Development Certificate for AY 2025-26:
- Please complete at least 4 out of the 6 core research development workshops by May 1, 2026.
- Once you’ve completed at least 4 workshops, please email ResearchDevelopment@bgsu.edu. We will verify your participation in the workshops and ask you to complete a brief online form.
