8th International Conference on Music and Minimalism at BGSU

This May 5–8, MACCM and the College of Musical Arts hosted the Society for Minimalist Music’s Eighth International Conference on Music and Minimalism. This event featured more than 50 presentations and lecture-recitals from national and international scholars, as well as several concerts with music by Louis Andriessen, Harold Budd, Julius Eastman, Jürg Frey, Sarah Hennies, Elodie Lauten, Meredith Monk, Steve Reich, and others. The conference also included keynote lectures by Ellie Hisama, Dean of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, and composer Tashi Wada.
