The Department of Music Performance Studies invites applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Trombone
(one-year qualified rank position) in the College of Musical Arts with an expected start date of August 2023 for this
9-month appointment.

Teaching expectations include undergraduate and graduate applied trombone, coaching chamber music, leading
trombone choir, contributing to the brass pedagogy course (MUSP 4530-5530), undergraduate and graduate
recruiting, advising, contributing to the artistic and intellectual life of the College and University, and maintaining
a current profile as a trombone performer and pedagogue in state, regional and national activities. Other duties
will be assigned by the Chair or Dean depending upon the needs of the Department of Music Performance Studies
and the College of Musical Arts.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Earned Doctorate or Master’s degree in Trombone Performance with two years of professional performing and/or
teaching experience.
2. Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred
3. Professional performing experience in all facets of trombone performance (i.e. solo, chamber, and orchestral
music.
