Assistant Professor of Viola, Department of Music Performance Studies, College of Musical Arts, Bowling Green State University. Tenure-track faculty position available August 2023.

Applicants must have a doctorate or master’s degree with two years of professional performing and/or teaching experience. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate applied viola, coaching chamber music, leading orchestral viola sectionals, contributing to the string pedagogy course, undergraduate and graduate recruiting, advising, contributing to the artistic and intellectual life of the College and University, and maintaining a current profile as a viola performer and pedagogue in state, regional and national activities. The Department of Musicology/Composition/Theory at Bowling Green State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position (full-time, tenure-track) in Composition. Start date is August 2023.

The position is designed to provide shared leadership in the continuing development of the contemporary music program at Bowling Green State University on the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants must have an earned doctorate (PhD or DMA) in Composition (ABDs will be considered if degree is completed before August 2023.)  Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate applied composition, related classroom teaching, recruiting, contributing to the artistic and intellectual life of the College and University, and maintaining a current profile as a composer/teacher in state, regional and national activities. Additional duties may be assigned by the Chair or Dean depending upon the needs of the Department of Musicology/Composition/Theory and the College of Musical Arts.
