High School Honor Band
Three-day honor ensemble experience for high school musicians that includes ensemble, sectional, and master class experiences with BGSU faculty and guest conductors, culminating in a final performance.
Middle School Honor Band
One-day honor ensemble experience for middle school musicians that includes ensemble, sectional, and master class experiences with BGSU faculty and guest conductors, culminating in a final performance.
High School Honors String Festival
Honors festival for intermediate to advanced high school string players who are eager to develop their talent and musicianship. Includes ensemble, sectional, and master class experiences with BGSU faculty and guest artists, culminating in a final performance.
Middle School Honors String Festival
Honors festival for middle school string players who are eager to develop their talent and musicianship. Includes rehearsals and sectionals with BGSU faculty and the BG Philharmonia, eurythmics and yoga sessions, campus tour, and an evening performance.
High School Falcon Choral Festival
Annual Falcon Choral Festival for high school students in grades 9 through 12. Dr. Richard Schnipke, director of the University Men’s Chorus, and Dr. Emily Pence Brown, director of the University Women’s Chorus, are assisted by choral music education majors as they work with the high school singers throughout the day, culminating in a final performance.
Middle School Honors Chorus
Annual Middle School Honors Chorus for students in grades 6-8. Dr. Mark Munson, Director of Choral Activities, directs the chorus and is assisted throughout the day by choral music education majors, culminating in a final performance.
Summer Music Institute
SMI features 8 different week-long intensive camp sessions designed to improve your playing, learn new skills, and meet new friends – all on a college campus. Students will work with BGSU music faculty and guest artists who will challenge and inspire!
Academy Band Program
Extra-curricular weekly performance opportunity designed specifically for middle school and high school band students in Northwest Ohio. Includes full group rehearsals, sectional instruction, and a final performance at the end of each semester.
Double Reed Day
Open to bassoonists and oboists of all ages and abilities. Music educators are welcome to attend! Includes a solo competition, performances, master classes, double reed choir for all that want to play, vendor exhibits, and a closing performance with the competition winners.
David D. Dubois Piano Festival and Competition
Open to classically-trained pianists in grades 8-12. Includes a master class, performance by a guest artist, and prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place competition winners.
