Moldovean to compete in final round of Tuesday Musical Association Competition

Nineteen university music students received nearly $21,000 through Tuesday Musical’s 2017 Scholarship Competition, held in March and drawing more than 150 competitors. BGSU graduate student Octavian Moldovean, flute, was awarded the Arden J. Yockey Scholarship for his performance.

Octavian will perform in Tuesday Musical’s free 2017 Scholarship Winners Concert on Sunday, May 15, 4 p.m. at Fairlawn West United Church of Christ in Akron, OH. Two additional performance scholarships — one for $1,000 and one for $2,000 — will be awarded during a post-concert reception that's open to the audience.

Tuesday Musical’s annual Scholarship Competition is widely recognized as the best of its kind in Ohio. Starting in 1955 and with support from generous donors, Tuesday Musical has awarded more than 520 scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000.
