Bowling Green represented at upcoming United States Navy Band Saxophone Symposium
The 40th International Saxophone Symposium will be held on January 12-13, 2018 at the George Mason University Center for the Arts in Fairfax, Virginia. This year's soloists are Claude Delangle, Timothy McAllister, the Navy Band Saxophone Quartet, Dale Underwood and Miguel Zenón.
The International Saxophone Symposium, hosted by the United States Navy Band, is held each year in early January. The two-day event, first hosted by the Navy Band in 1978, features a mix of performances, masterclasses and lectures designed for musicians of all ages.
The Navy Band established the symposium's College Quartet Series as a way to feature college and university performers. Throughout the symposium, student quartets are featured in their own recitals. The saxophone quartets representing Bowling Green are the Aurora Saxophone Quartet, Segetem Saxophone Quartet, and the Epsilon Saxophone Quartet. BGSU will also be represented by soloists Soren Hamm and Nick Zoulek. Additionally, BGSU alumni performing at the event are as follows:
