Strategic Planning

Rogers
BGSU continues to move forward with great momentum. Our success is due to the hard work and accomplishments of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends guided by the University’s vision, mission, and core values. Since our Strategic Plan’s initial adoption in 2009, the plan has been updated periodically to reflect significant changes inside and outside the institution in our spirit of innovation and as a national model for a premier learning community. The seven goals of the strategic plan will continue to serve us well when viewed as a “living document” that proactively evolves to address future circumstances and opportunities.

Throughout April and into early May, more than 500 students, faculty and staff participated in the forums and offered suggestions and feedback around the six core capabilities and competencies that are required for BGSU to reach its full potential:

  • Academic programs for traditional students
  • Academic programs for post traditional students
  • Research/Creative
  • People
  • External Relations
  • Financial Strength and Facilities/IT

Thank you to everyone who participated! As we know, the strength of any university is based on the active engagement of all members of its community, and your involvement was critical in helping to refine and reaffirm BGSU’s Strategic Plan. The comments you provided are informative and engaging. The University’s senior leadership team will now take the summer to review the feedback and ideas and work to refresh the strategic plan. I look forward to sharing the refocused plan with you this fall and provide additional opportunities for you to refine the plan even further as we move forward.

Regards,
