Student Organization Fair and Dean’s Picnic encourage personal growth and networking

Students from the Schmidthorst College of Business gathered for the annual Student Organization Fair to learn about the many exciting opportunities available through student-led groups in the College.

org fair 1Held in the Maurer Center, the fair welcomed a variety of organizations including the American Marketing Association; Beta Alpha Psi, a professional organization for accounting and information systems; the Information Systems Organization; the Supply Chain Management Association; the Academy of Professional Selling; and Gamma Lota Sigma, an insurance and risk management fraternity.

Other college-wide organizations including Women in Business Leadership; the Dean’s Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion; Delta Sigma Pi, a co-ed business fraternity; and the Schmidthorst Student Ambassadors, were also on hand.

Dean's Picnic Brings Students, Faculty and Staff Together

Following the fair, students were invited to the Dean’s picnic in the Schmeltz Atrium. Students had the opportunity to talk with Dean Raymond Braun and network with faculty and other students.

deans picnic web“The Dean’s Picnic is one of my favorite annual traditions” said Raymond Braun, dean of the Schmidthorst College of Business. “It is a great way to welcome the students back to campus and help them feel more connected to the Schmidthorst community.”

Students and faculty alike appreciated the opportunity to be together.

“I have some great memories of meeting friends my freshman year at the Dean’s Picnic,” said Elizabeth Schofield, Schmidthorst junior. “I’m glad we had the opportunity to have it this year in our great new building.”
