  • “Hitting the books” was not part of Dr. Schauer’s accounting classes and students performed better Feb 5, 2018 12:59 PM In Dr. Paul Schauer’s accounting courses, students don’t study material in a textbook as you would traditionally think. They also do not take on the role of “scribe,” furiously taking lecture notes during class. The reason? Dr. Schauer decided to teach accounting principles without using a textbook and turned his traditional classroom into an active learning classroom. His innovative teaching paid off with higher student performance and positive student comments.

Vitakraft, the European parent company of Vitakraft Sun Seed that is located just west of Bowling Green, successfully sells its cat-calming product, Felisept, in European markets, and was looking for student insights as they prepared to launch the product into the American market this spring.

  • Amy Shore '86 profiled in Fortune magazine Feb 5, 2018 10:30 AM Bowling Green State University alumna Amy Shore ’86, president of property and casualty sales and distribution at Nationwide, was recently profiled in Fortune magazine. The magazine recognized Nationwide in its 100 Best Workplaces for Women at No. 50, and Shore is one of the company’s highest-ranking female executives.

  • BGSU mediation team earns national recognition Jan 25, 2018 2:07 PM Bowling Green State University has become a recognized leader in intercollegiate mediation tournaments held by the International Alternative Dispute Association. In 2017 BGSU finished first in the nation in the Advocate-Client category and fifth in the Mediator category, and six team members were named All-American Mediators out of a total of 35.
